Shelters

A shelter is a safe place for you and your children to stay when you are ready to step out of the violence and abuse in your life. Your safety and wellbeing are their concern.

Help is only a phone call away. You don’t have to go the shelter to get help.

When you call a shelter, you will get the support and information you need. They know how hard it is to live with violence and abuse. And they know how hard it is for you and your children to leave home.

Shelter staff will help you sort out your situation and plan your future. They will listen to you and provide the support you need at this difficult time. They can connect you with other services, including counselling, income support and other financial services, legal support, schools and housing.

You are not alone.

When you’re ready… shelter staff will be there to help.

Call the crisis number of the shelter nearest you.

You deserve a life free without violence or abuse.
